Garcia studied at Texas Christain University after graduating from high school, for a period of three years, before moving to the University of Texas. As she progressed through the years, her competitive edge increased. Angela Akin Garcia chose journalism over golf despite finding pleasure and satisfaction in her role in her playing. After she graduated and was offered a position with Fox Sports Southwest as a journalist.
